As the winner of a competition between multiple designers, Estudio Felipe Escudero realized the vision for a boutique 850 sq ft motel room in Quito's Tantra Hotel. In an attempt to portray the feeling of floating on clouds, EFE created a dreamy interior with pale blue colors and soft light that references Japanese manga and vaporwave aesthetics.
A series of objects were also designed for the interior by EFE,
inspired by the human body, fluids, and other geometrical shapes that seem to be melting in three
dimensions. The loveseat is reinterpreted as a giant hand, crystal spheres float in space to contain toys, an Escher-esque spherical mirror is placed above the bed.
